Showers: Book Party

I adore books. So while brainstorming with my best friend about what kind of bridal shower to throw for an old roommate, I came up with the idea for a book shower (don't worry, Helen. We're not throwing you one. It was just an idea.). But seriously, how cool would that be? You could get help starting a family library! Just mosey on over to Amazon and add books to your wish list — it's just like registering!

Just set up a bookshelf and a small table. Leave out a bunch of the booklabels (preprinted and precut). Fill a jar or cup with pretty beads or beans and insert acid-free pens (like these from American Crafts, 5 for $9.99) tips down. This will allow the pens to work smoother. When guests are through writing, they can put the label in the book, and add their books to the shelf. Instant gift. Instant memories.

Readers, what book would you bring to a Bridal Book Shower?
