Paint Chips

Paint chips are one of Home Depot's greatest deals. They are FREE and plentiful and the company truly does not care how many you take. Located in the paint department, these little bits of paper can be used in a plethora of wedding decor.

This amazingly simple-to-DIY backdrop is made from paint chips and would be so awesome as a ceremony backdrop or behind a cake table.

Planters

Planters come in all sizes, shapes, and materials and are generally located in the outdoor garden center. Filled with plants, flowers, or even food, planters offer an affordable alternative to more expensive serving pieces.

Sometimes, Home Depot has planters that are so stunning - you can just stuff them full of flowers and let them be the focal point on your reception tables!

Flower Boxes

For those of you who are a little handy, why not incorporate flower boxes (also located in the outdoor garden center) into your wedding as some serious workhorses.

I love the idea of turning an enormous flower boxes (or a series of smaller boxes) into a serve yourself drinks cooler.

I so love this idea of turning smaller flower boxes into serving containers for a buffet (and paired with gardening tools as servers!).

Paint Stirrers

Another awesome freebie from this big box store (though you'll have to go back several times to get enough for a project as they tend to only hand these out from behind the counter). Pick yours up at the paint department and get ready to do a little DIY to make them great!

Pick up enough of those babies and, with a little scrap wood, some stain, and a staple gun, you can DIY your own farm crate inspired centerpieces!

A simpler DIY is to use paint stirrers as the handles of your ceremony program fans!

Other Ideas

In the paint department, look for 2 packs of dropclothes for $10. These make awesome tableclothes and can be used as fabric for chuppahs or backdrops! Wash them several times to soften.

Pergola kits (located in the lumber department) come in all sizes and are relatively easy to put together. Why not use as a wedding ceremony alter?

Home Depot has tons of potted plants and flowers priced for gardening but there's no reason you can't just pop them in a pretty container and group them together as a reception centerpiece!

In the electrical area, there are thin sheets of metal (literally called sheet metal) that are perfectly sized for magnetic escort card displays.

And don't forget about curtains and shower curtains! Located in the home decor and bath aisles, these can be used as inexpensive backdrops and tableclothes.

Want a pretty textured aisle runner? Pick up a few inexpensive bamboo shades in the window treatment area and stitch or glue them end to end for a fabulous aisle runner!

In the tile department, pick up a few large tiles or mosaic mesh-backed ones and use them as a unique update on a tablerunner (or to protect hot dishes from the buffet table).

Are any of you planning to pick up a little something for your wedding from Home Depot?
