Great Stroller for a Small Car

Right before I got pregnant with Melanie, The Boy and I bought a new small car. It was a small commuter car that got great mileage – a Mazda 3 hatchback. We were really happy with it and it was a great little car for new parents with a baby… except the truck. Turns out, strollers take up A LOT of precious trunk space in a small car. Space that's needed for groceries and other shopping.

Once we added another baby – trunk space was at a premium and we found ourselves struggling to load bags around our massive stroller. So, when Ergo offered to send me a one of their new, compact strollers – I was onboard! And, after using it for a few weeks, I can honestly say that the Ergo 180 Reversible Stroller is a great stroller for a small car.

Your first sign that you're getting a slim and compact stroller is when the Ergo 180 Reversible Stroller first shows up on your doorstep – in a small, slender box. It was easy for me to lift and bring into my house by myself. It was even easier to assemble. I pulled it out of the box and opened the main stroller. Then I added the wheels, sun canopy, and cup holder. That was it! It took me less than 5 minutes (with the “help” of two small children).

The best part was that I could open the stroller with the push of a button and close it with just one hand. SUCH a helpful feature when juggling a baby and stuff. I also really like how the handle moves 180 degrees. This allows me to put Finn in his forward-facing seat while he's awake then, once he falls asleep, effortlessly move the handle (it swings up and over) so he is facing me while I push the stroller. This is an awesome feature for when we travel and visit Disney since I like to see my babies while they're asleep but they like to be outward-facing while they're awake.

The absolute BEST thing about the Ergo 180 Reversible Stroller is how small it folds down. I'm absolutely floored by it! We went from a stroller that took up our entire truck (both width and height-wise) to a stroller that folds away so tiny that we can stand it up in the truck, if needed! Laid down, the whole folded up stroller takes up half our trunk (width-wise) and has a depth of less than a foot. It's incredible how much room we have now!

I did snag a couple of accessories to use with my Ergo 180 Reversible Stroller. I like it when my kids have a snack tray and cup holder of their own so I ordered one of those. If you have a Graco or Chicco infant seat, this adapter allows you to click and carry the seat in your stroller (a GREAT feature if you travel and rent cars a lot, like we do).

I'm also considering picking up one of these weather shields. It's an extra layer of protection if we travel to areas with a rainy climate (with the added bonus that your baby can see out at everything while also being protected from the elements).
