If you're planning a September/October/November wedding and you love jewel tones – then you're in luck because fall is the time for lush flowers and rich tones. According to Wedding Flowers Guide, a few popular in-season fall flowers are:

"Dahlias… and come in a range of colours from vibrant yellow to bright red. Hydrangeas are still available at this time of year. Their large flowers come in blue and pink. Interestingly the colours are determined by the acidity of the soil; if it is more acid the flowers are pink, if it is more alkali the flowers are blue. Chrysanthemums are available all year round, but their actual season is in the fall… these flowers come in a wide range of flower sizes and colours ranging from the large headed white varieties like 'rebonnet' to small lime green ones like 'kermit'. 'Red hot pokers' (Kniphofia) provide vivid reds and yellows to fall flower arrangements."

Also, consider the Chinese lantern fruits (Physalis), ranunculus, and the year-round favorite – roses.

September and October are really wonderful times to enjoy and steal request flowers from your family and friends' gardens. Just think, how lovely would it be to walk down the aisle with a bouquet made up of various stems from your loved ones' gardens?
