Blogging Bootcamp Logo Links

To get a logo, you can hire a professional or buy a pre-made template. Here’s a couple of options to get you started though. Pick the one you like best and save it to your computer:

From the customizer, go to Global Settings > Logo & Favicon and upload the logo by clicking the “Select Image” button under “Logo”.

Click the “Upload Image” tab and follow the directions to upload your image.

Once it is uploaded, click the “Select” button and click the “Skip Crop Image” button.

Click the “Save & Publish” button.

Adding an Image to your Blog Post

Images are extremely important when creating powerful blog posts that people like to read – they are also super helpful for social media traffic (readers are VERY visual).

To add an image within your blog post, click on “Add Media” which is found at the top of the WYSWIG Editor.

Then, click on “Upload Files”. You'll have the option to either drag and drop an image directly from your computer or use the Upload Tool to find it in your files. The cool thing about WordPress is that it hosts all your images for you.

To get images for your blog, you can take them yourself, hire a photographer, or use copyright-free stock images.

Right now, let’s just use one of these. Pick the one you like best and save it to your computer:

Big Fat Tip: Take a moment to add the text for the alt and title tags – it all helps with social media sharing and search engine optimization.

Under “Attachment Display Settings”, select your alignment (I prefer my images centered) and size (a minimum of 700 pixels wide is standard for blogs).

Once you are done, click “Insert into Post” on the bottom right side.

Click “Publish” on the right side and your blog post will be live!
