How to Add Simple, Personalized Touches to Your Traditional Wedding

Classic Wedding Bride and Groom at CeremonyWith all the DIY-filled, out-in-a-pasture, build your own alter weddings out there, sometimes it's really nice to see a traditonal, classic wedding with a few personal touches. The interfaith wedding of Lisa Lombardi and Craig Weinstock was just that. Classic. Traditional. Tasteful. And lovely.

From wedding photographer, Jenelle Kappe of Jenelle Kappe Photography:

"Lisa & Craig were amazing to work with. I loved the elegant details that Lisa included in her wedding day. The tank tops that her and her bridesmaids wore was a DIY project, that now turned into a business for her. She now sells them on Etsy.

Their Labordoodle Leo is the cutest thing ever! We had no choice but to include him in on the wedding day fun. He was even part of their custom made cake topper. How adorable is that?!?!"

A note from the bride:

"When planning our wedding, I wanted to make it personal to me and Craig. Since we grew up in the same town and knew each other for so long, it was important that we stayed local. We used many local vendors that I heard of through word of mouth. We took our pictures at a local park and boardwalk where we go several times a week with our dog, Leo. Although we would have loved for Leo to be at the ceremony, we settled to take pictures with him at the park and have him on our cake topper.

I wanted our wedding to be simple, yet elegant. I bought my dress on clearance. It was a discontinued style dress and I could not find it online. I loved the fact that no one else would have it. I had my mom's veil removed from her hat and sewn onto a decorative comb that I wore the entire night. I chose dark purple long dresses for my bridesmaids and paired with a touch of sage green in the flowers. I chose various arrangements of hydrangea as centerpieces at the reception and as aisle runners at the ceremony. We created personalized bookmarks as favors that represented two charities that are close to our hearts. We had pictures of us back in elementary school together at the reception. We had an interfaith ceremony and made sure to represent both faiths. All I wanted was to get married outside. It was a picture perfect day. I remember walking down the aisle thinking that it was exactly as I had pictured it."
