These potential outfits for our Walt Disney World family photo shoot incorporate some stuff we already own and few new pieces we can enjoy in the future.
San Antonio lifestyle blogger, Cris Stone, shares a short list of newborn baby must haves that worked for her during those first, hazy days.
I recently had my second child and this time, I tried to be more prepared then I was the first go around. I pre-washed all the baby’s clothes, read the instructions for my new breast pump, and (most importantly) this time – I had most of my postpartum meals preplanned. And one of those meals was getting a delivery from Blue Apron. I really didn’t know what to expect but ended up LOVING it. I also decided that THIS is that gift that I’m giving at every baby shower from here on out. Because, honestly, this is the gift every new mom REALLY wants!
I’ve been lucky enough for the last year to be able to snag the car from my husband (we’re a one car family) once a week so I can take my daughter to storytime at our local library. Since it’s literally the only time she gets to socialize with other children during the week, I’ve worked really hard to be sure and get us there no matter what. Sure, she sucks at sitting still and listening (and frequently stand RIGHT IN FRONT of the book being read) but she’s definitely grown and gotten better at participating. I do love seeing her enjoy the new books and playing with toys but, I gotta tell ya, as a total introvert, I’m totally over being there with other parents. I KNOW! I’m an asshole. But listen, they’re all there and have all these different personalities and, for my social anxious ass, it’s super overwhelming. And they all basically fall into the same groups, or, as I like to call it – the 10 people you meet at library storytime:
I am a slacker mom. No, no. Let me clarify that. I am THE Slacker Mom – the Patron Saint of Slacker Moms, if you will. I am beyond lazy. Look I adore my family and I’m grateful to be able to work from home but I am definitely NOT the kind of mom who plans elaborate parties to celebrate half-birthdays or creates a learning center in the corner or my beautifully landscaped yard for the neighborhood kids. Frankly, you’ll be lucky if you come to my house before 5PM and find me with my teeth brushed. So, keeping my house “company clean” at all times is… not gonna happen (I salute those of you who do though!). So, I’ve spent the last few years finding products that can quickly and effectively make my house shine. And with the help of Costco, Mr. Clean Magic Erasers, Dawn Platinum Advanced Power, and Cascade Complete Action Pacs, I’ve perfected what I like to call, “The Slacker Mom’s Guide To Getting Your House Company Clean in 20 Minutes”.

Ya know. One of the things that is most interesting to me during this whole growing up process is how it gets easier to completely change your mind. Take, for example, various and sundry wedding traditions. Most are silly or…

Well, I have TONS of news for Tulle Nation. The Boy and I are getting married this Friday. Yep. THIS FRIDAY!
The above is happiness, fear, and a whole crapload of nerves. Because y’all know that The Boy and I have been engaged since January and planning a May 2012 wedding. We’ve chosen vendors, put down deposits, and the save-the-dates have already been printed. Why the change, Cris?
