One of the biggest expenses of any wedding is the venue. Finding a place to host the wedding ceremony and/or reception can take a serious chunk out of your budget! But, did you know that there’s a world of options outside the traditional hotel ballroom or event center? It’s true! These days, just about ANY place can be a wedding venue and the best part? Lots of them are cheap or even free! Check out my list of 10 cheap or free wedding venues (and then get your fingers to Googling one in your area)!
Spring in the Texas Hill Country is down right beautiful! The air smells amazing, the wildflowers are in bloom, and the skies are a clear blue color. I love this time of year and try to get my kids outside and playing as much as possible. We smell the flowers, play in dirt, and build little houses out of sticks. We run, yell, and laugh. Because we’re so active and messy in the outdoors, I make sure to dress Melanie and Finn appropriately – in clothes that allow them freedom of movement and that can take a beating. It’s so important to me that my kids wear clothes that can be played in but also look good and show off their personal styles. For Melanie, shorts and a colorful T-shirt are must while Finn is rocking rompers this spring. Are your kids the same way? Then I’d like to encourage you to get out there and start enjoying some #FieldsOfFun with your kids this spring plus, I’m giving you chance to win a $50 gift card from OshKosh B’gosh to buy some clothes for your own little ones!
As many of you know, I love Thanksgiving and host it every year. I have been doing it for so long that I have a set menu, a timeline, and all the supplies I need to create a chic yet simple “event” that everyone enjoys. This year, I decided to add another fun level to my Thanksgiving skillz – a leftovers station! Y’all know that leftovers are the absolute BEST thing about the holiday so why not make them the centerpiece of your celebration? I’ve made it super easy for you, too! I sourced all the supplies and am sharing a bunch of FREE printables so you can create your own Thanksgiving leftovers station:
This weekend, my little family had the opportunity to attend the LEGO® Americana Roadshow, a traveling display of large scale LEGO® models replicating some of the nation’s most iconic and well-known landmarks. We had such a good time since this one-of-a-kind exhibit is highly visual, educational, and free! Melanie has been playing with LEGOs® since she was a year old and it was so amazing to see her get incredibly excited looking at the workmanship and inventiveness of the LEGO® exhibits. Truly, it is family-friendly fun for all ages at the LEGO® Americana Roadshow at the North Star Mall!
For several years now, I’ve been trying to become a healthier and fitter person. Sometimes, I’ve succeeded… many times, I’ve failed. Because of my high and low history, I am always looking for ways to make better health and fitness choices. And, lately, the best way for me to eat right and regularly exercise is to ditch the gym and do everything at home. Sure, it’s tricky when you work from home, have a toddler, AND you’re pregnant again. However, I’ve discovered that if I can remove the need to have a set time and vehicle to hit a gym, then I end up actually working out MORE. In the same situation? Here are 5 great at home fitness and health solutions:
