Wedding Wednesday: The Bridesmaids

I'm not done talking about my under $5,000 wedding in Texas! And today, I'm talking specifically about my bridesmaids (or BMs for those of us who like the potty humor). I have to say that my bridesmaids were probably the most awesome ones ever. Seriously. Don't be jealous.

Here's what my bridesmaids did for my wedding:

  • Came early and helped clean up my house (it was awful) and the yard where the reception would be (Dog poo anyone? BMs indeed.).
  • Helped me hang the HUGE fabric backdrop for the wedding ceremony.
  • Did my make-up and hair.
  • Made ALL the bouquets for the entire wedding party.

What I did for my bridesmaids:

  • I skipped the silly rhinestone encrusted gifts and gave them Amazon.com gift cards.
  • I let them wear whatever dress they wanted as long as it was blue.
  • I let them wear whatever shoes they wanted as long as they could walk outdoors in them.
  • I let them do their hair and make-up however they wanted.
  • I treated them like damn adults and told/showed them constantly how much I appreciated their help and loved sharing this event with them.
