Music: iPod Playlist for a DJ-Less Wedding Reception

A reader on my Facebook page requested a post about song suggestions for an iPod playlist for a DJ-less wedding reception. She likes all kinds of music (Top 40 on the radio with a mix of some late '90s and lots of classics) but her fiance has the complete opposite taste in music. They'd really just like a variety of songs that will make everyone happy (from 20 and 30 somethings to the older crowd, too). In my experience, a collection of songs from the '80s/'90s along with some pop-style country and big hits from the '50s/'60s are the best mix for a wedding reception. Here are my suggestions:

Looking for more, you can read about The Ranty Bride's experience planning her wedding reception playlist and my wedding ceremony playlist. A tip? If you're planning to go the iPod playlist route, then rent in professional grade speakers or invest in a Bose sound system (like we did). Also, have someone in charge of the iPod (just in case).

Do you have a song suggestion to add to this iPod wedding reception playlist?
