Summer is coming and for my little family that means pool time! We're lucky enough to have grandparents right down the street who have an above ground pool and love swimming with their grandbabies. We swim at their house so much in the summer that I just keep swimsuits and swim diapers there all the time! I grew up with a 3 acre pond outside my back door and vividly remember swimming in it every day. Water and water safety is hugely important to me – particularly since my kids also seem to be water babies. It's incredibly important for me to have kids that know how to swim and understand water safety. That's why I'm delighted the May 20, 2017 is National Learn to Swim Day. It's the perfect time to get out there and swim! Read on to find out how you can celebrate National Learn to Swim Day with Swimways!
Since 2012, the 3rd Saturday of May is National Learn to Swim Day. On that day, Swimways encourages families to discuss and learn about water safety and the benefits of learning how to swim. This is the 6th year that Swimways will be spending National Learn to Swim Day helping educate parents and children. Since so many pools open at this time of year, this day is an chance to increase awareness on the importance of water safety. Swimways encourages everyone across the nation to take part in teaching children to swim. Watching my children laugh, splash, and swim without fear of being in water is one of those things that makes me truly happy.
I know that can be intimidating and so does Swimways, that's why they encourage everyone with young children to try out a Baby Spring Float. The float is designed to help parents and babies feel comfortable and safe in the water. I love that the Baby Spring Float was easy to handle and that Finn felt safe enough to let go of my husband's shirt and splash in the water. That's what I looked forward to the most with this product – the chance to let me baby have some freedom in the water while still maintaining his safety. It's an added bonus that the float folds up easily for storage and has a really cool, full coverage sun shade.
