All hail the lazy bitches! We're the ones who would rather pin pretty stuff on Pinterest than actually get off our asses and DIY them. We're the ones who opt to let our partner plan the entire honeymoon because it allows us to spend that time cleaning out our DVR. Yes, we are alive and well in the wedding community – though we're enjoying said community reclining on our collective bums. But alas, if you want a wedding on a budget – it does take work and work means… well, working. But have no fear, fellow lazy bitches! I've rounded up my best tips and ideas for finding a wedding venue on a budget (and not breaking a sweat).

The Lazy Bitch's Guide to Finding a Wedding Venue on a Budget
1. Right off the bat, forget traditional locations like hotels and ballrooms – they are too expensive for us and generally take an entire DAY to do the wedding walkthrough thing. All day to look at a couple of rooms and chat about the price? Pffft. No. Instead, go to a bridal fair and "visit" several locations in one afternoon to narrow down your choices. THEN do the walkthroughs.
2. Know what venue you want already? Call or email them for all the information (budget, capacity, available dates) before you even bother to schedule a walkthrough. If you know all the basic answers before you even get there then you can cut down on all that wasted "chatty" time.
3. See what's around you. Love your house? Have a backyard wedding. Cool restaurant down the street? Call for availability. Sweet park in the 'hood? Email them for rates. For reals, there's no need for you to get up off the couch and schlep around your city looking for a venue. If you have a rough head count then think of places near you that could accomodate your wedding.
4. Delegate. Seriously, if you know what you want – why not have a friend or family member track it down for you? This is a task to palm off on someone dying to help. Ask them to get the rates and requirements plus take a bunch of photos for you to look at. Look it all through THEN go for a walkthrough.
5. Search Instagram. Tons of great wedding venues and planners are on Instagram and showing off fabulous places to get married. Follow a few of your favorites and cruise through their feed to find potentials.
