The Lazy Bitch’s Guide to Sourcing Rentals on a Budget

But alas, if you want a wedding on a budget – it does take work and work means… well, working. But have no fear, fellow lazy bitches! I've rounded up my best tips and ideas for sourcing rentals on a budget (and not breaking a sweat).

All hail the lazy bitches! We're the ones who would rather pin pretty stuff on Pinterest than actually get off our asses and DIY them. We're the ones who opt to let our partner plan the entire honeymoon because it allows us to spend that time cleaning out our DVR. Yes, we are alive and well in the wedding community – though we're enjoying said community reclining on our collective bums.

The Lazy Bitch's Guide to Sourcing Rentals on a Budget

But alas, if you want a wedding on a budget – it does take work and work means… well, working. But have no fear, fellow lazy bitches! I've rounded up my best tips and ideas for sourcing rentals on a budget (and not breaking a sweat).

The Lazy Bitch's Guide to Sourcing Rentals on a Budget

1. Right off the bat, forget visiting individual rental companies and looking at each and every offering. Do you really want to spend hours looking at the same chairs and tablecloths? Pffft. No. Instead, check online and look at the companies offering and pricing sheet. Narrow it down to your best options THEN go and see them in person. Bing, bang, done.

2. For the quickest and easiest rental process ever, go with the basics. White folding chair, white napkins, plain silverware. Those are generally priced the best and have the most inventory so no messing with not having enough for your celebration.

3. Try Craigslist. Rental companies advertise on their all the time (just be sure to cross check the companies on the Better Business Bureau site to avoid scams). Most include photos and price lists right there in the ad so you don't have to be bothered tracking those down online.

4. Delegate. Seriously, if you know what you want – why not have a friend or family member track it down for you? This is a task to palm off to someone dying to help… then just show up to see the best ones. If you have a wedding planner – this is THE task for them and with their amazing contacts – they'll do it in a fraction of the time it would have taken you.

5. Search online. Companies like Smarty Had A Party offer amazing deals on the stuff you'd normally rent for a great price and ship right to your door. Awesome.
