As many of you know, I'm lazy. Like, LAZY lazy. Which, I'm going to be honest with you, makes that whole “get healthier” thing really troublesome. But, my family needs to improve our well-being and, as the mom, it's up to me to take up the charge. So here's 5 healthy lifestyle swaps my family is making this year:
Clean Out The Fridge: This week, I spent a lot of time cleaning out the fridge and swapping out less healthy foods for better options. For example, I stopped buying potatoes and switched to carrots, parsnips, and sweet potatoes. I often make mashed potatoes out of habit when I could be serving roasted vegetables – which my family likes just as much.
Preslice Fruit and Vegetables: Tell me that I'm not the only person who buys fresh produce just to have it go bad and be tossed out. One simple swap that I discovered to help with that? Buying presliced fruits and vegetables. Apparently, when no one has to cut anything up – my family eats more fruits and veggies.
Add Probiotics: I love how probiotics make me feel but hate taking those big pills. So this year, I'm swapping out the pills for an eight ounce serving of for myself and everyone in my family every morning. Each serving contains an entire day's worth of Vitamin C plus one BILLION live, active cultures to my gut. Melanie loves that it comes in three tasty flavors (, , and ) and I love that it has no added sugar or artificial flavors.
Invest In Family Outdoor Time: For us, that means buying bikes (and a baby seat for Finn) so we can all go to the park and ride. I have learned that just going to the park often led to my kids running around and playing – but my husband and I sitting on benches. Swapping in bikes has allowed us to all be up and active.
Water Bottles for Everyone: I started filling water bottles with water and keeping them stashed in the fridge for anyone to grab when they were thirsty. Since my family is as lazy as me, it's easier to grab a pre-filled water bottle then pour some juice so everyone is drinking more water.
Are you interested in enjoying your own glass of the yummy goodness that is ? Thank you, Tropicana, for bringing probiotics into the mainstream and making my more a little healthier and more convenient! Snag your 32-ounce bottle of in the refrigerated section at Walmart.
