Partnered Post: Summer vs. Winter Wedding

The type of season that you choose to have your wedding in can determine a lot about your big day. From the type of venue you host it at, to the length of your dress, to the colour of the bridesmaid dresses and more. So would you prefer a bright and (hopefully!) sunny day, or a crisp winter day for your wedding?

The type of season that you choose to have your wedding in can determine a lot about your big day. From the type of venue you host it at, to the length of your dress, to the colour of the bridesmaid dresses and more. So would you prefer a bright and (hopefully!) sunny day, or a crisp winter day for your wedding?

Partnered Post: Summer vs. Winter Wedding

Summer set up

If you love bright colours, spending time outdoors and shorter dresses then this is the season for you. Instead of having your ceremony, wedding breakfast and night do indoors you could put up a big marquee outside, or even have a beach wedding if you are jetting off abroad. The blue sky will make wedding photos look even more beautiful too!

Style for the sun

For your wedding gown you could opt for a floor length dress for the ceremony then change into a fun, short dress for the evening so you can be comfortable and dance the night away. You can go for brighter colours with the bridesmaids’ gowns and again probably choose a shorter length.

Winter wonderland

If you love that feeling of being cosy and warm then creating a winter themed wedding indoors will be the choice for you. With the nights getting dark quickly, it would be the perfect setting to let off some fireworks to kick off the evening reception. You can even put up fairy lights and make it feel a bit festive if you are holding it around Christmas.

Dress to impress

With a winter wedding a princess style wedding dress like the ones from The Cotswold Frock Shop come to mind. A floor length gown with a princess skirt will fit perfectly with the theme, plus will keep you warmer for any outdoor photos. Choosing deep colours such as purple or navy blue would look gorgeous on the bridesmaids.

There are easy ways to make the weather outdoors the inspiration for your big day, so think about your favourite time of year and incorporate it into what will be one of the most special days of your life – and have fun!
