I've got a 38 week pregnancy update for y'all. At this point in my pregnancy, the baby can safely be born at any time. So basically, she's been freeloading for the last week. It's not as fun for me as you'd think.
How far along? 38 Weeks
Total weight gain: Up to 225. And no, I don't want to talk about it.
Maternity clothes? Black yoga pants, flip flops, Old Navy tank top. Every frigging day.
Stretch marks? The ones all over my lower belly are super itchy right now.
Sleep: Ugh. Sleeping is starting to be really uncomfortable and I'm rolling over many, many times a night. The problem? When I roll over – my belly tries to stay behind. So now I'm having to remember to grab my belly, flex my core, and THEN roll over.
Best moment this week: Having my little brothers here. They are SUPER helpful and have been working their butts off to install my kitchen sink + put in all the hardwood flooring in my living room and hallway. I'm going to miss them next week when they go to camp.
Miss Anything? Walking without a waddle. Normal shoes (my feet are so swollen that I only fit into flip-flops).
Movement: She never slows down… except when her dad is around. It's like she hears his voice and just stops.
Food cravings: STRAWBERRIES!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Boy farts (OMG. So Many Boy Farts.).
Gender: Girl.
Labor Signs: Starting to feel her moving down into position (she hasn't formally dropped though) and feeling a bit of cramping (but no Braxton-Hicks).
Symptoms: Just really, really tired and lethargic. Like, I could easily just sit on the couch for hours and not move. Unfortunately, we have WAY too much work left for me to do that.
Belly Button in or out? Flat and a weird brown color.
Wedding rings on or off? Off.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy but I did have a couple of meltdowns this week. Definitely hormonal-related.
Looking forward to: Having my mom and little sister fly in next week. Doing another ultrasound at my appointment on Wednesday. Getting the rest of my kitchen appliances put in. Also, I'm taking all of July and August off the blog and enjoying a long maternity leave.
Also of Note: I wanted to take a second to tell everyone how amazing my brothers have been. OMG. They have been incredible and SO, SO helpful. They literally laid all the flooring in my living room and hallway (and are ready to tackle the master bedroom tomorrow) – I barely did anything. It was fantastic. Also, they're really learning a lot from The Boy and truly trying to help out with whatever they can.
On top of all that, they're willing to help take out the trash, fill water glasses, clean floors, etc. It's been really lovely and allowed me to rest a lot and get work done. I love them and they're amazing capacity for service. Thanks, guys!
