Best Travel Outfits and Luggage for Moms

// I may earn money from the companies mentioned in this post. //

Y'all know by now that we travel a lot, right?

I mean, we travel so much that I have prepacked go bags for my kids and they know how to go through security and board the airplane without a lot of wrangling on my end.

They're great travelers and I love it.

Best Travel Outfits and Luggage for Moms

But… “What about you, Cris?”, you may be asking. I mean, you may not be – I don't know your life.

What I can say, with almost complete certainty that you have probably wondered what the best travel outfits and luggage for moms is.

Texas Mom Blogger, Kiss My Tulle, points you in the direction of the best travel outfits and luggage for moms.

If you're a mom and plan to ever travel on an airplane then I know you've got a lot of thoughts about what constitutes “the best outfit” for travel:

It needs to be comfortable. It needs to be stylish. It needs to be able to handle all the wrinkles and mess that come with traveling with kids.

It would also be nice if it was practical for a variety of sizes and shapes since you may be traveling at a size 2 or 32, pregnant, postpartum, and/or nursing.

I mean, who has time to buy a new outfit just for traveling on a plane every. single. time you're about to get on a flight?

Not me.

It Needs To Be Comfortable.

So here's my thoughts, you're going to want to be comfortable, right? Flying typically means squeezing into a small seat, bloating and/or swelling, and sweating and/or the chills. Fun, right?

Well, that means that now is not the time to rock those stilettos, try out those skin tight jeans, or rock just a crop top. I mean, if you want to – get after it, girl. I admire your style!

But, for the rest of us, this means looking for non-constricting waistbands, clothes made from stretchy materials, and easy to put on/take off layers.

It Needs To Be Stylish.

And it needs to be stylish. I am straight up that Hot Mess Mom plus I'm rocking a size 24 right now – I am literally the LEAST stylish person on the planet right now.

But, I will freely admit that I still like to look a little nicer when I travel. Like I'm not a walking shit show and totally have my act together.

Everyone's idea of what it means to be stylish is different but I think that any outfit that is simple and looks pulled together is a chic option.

It Needs To Be Practical.

Let's be real – kids are gross. And kids in confined spaces like airplanes are like, extra level nasty… and your clothes will take the brunt of it.

You WILL get boogers, spit up, throw up, food (chewed or crumbled), water/beverages, blood, sticky stuff, and whatever else they (literally) throw at you on it.

Look for clothes that don't wrinkle, that can be washed or spot cleaned with water, and clothes that can stretch and then resume their shape quickly. Cotton blends and jersey are awesome fabrics to look for.

Make It Yours Though.

All of the following outfit suggestions are meant to be swapped around and the items substituted for what works for you.

Some have more expensive “investment” pieces that can be swapped out for more affordable options. Some may have a shirt in a cut that's not 100% your thing so swap it out for one that is.

I'm just pointing you in the direction of the clothes and luggage that I know will offer you the best of all three: comfort, style, and practicality.
