The Boy and I are big time baseball fans – him the Texas Rangers and me, the Boston Red Sox.

We love watching games together and have been trekking to Arlington once a year to catch a Red Sox/Rangers game since we started dating.

And now, we're the proud owners of an adorable little baseball fan – but which team will she be rooting for?

We fought about discussed this for a while until I came up with the perfect solution – a dual baseball team T-shirt.

In case you and yours cheer for different baseball teams, here's how to make a dual team T-shirt for your littlest baseball fan:

Here's what you'll need:

  • A T-shirt From Your Team
  • A T-shirt From Their Team
  • Fabric Scissors
  • Tape Measure
  • Thread
  • Sewing Machine (+ a Serger, if you have one) + Thread

Here's how it breaks down:

Step One:

Gather your supplies and lay out the T-shirts on a flat surface.

Step Two:

Using a tape measure, measure each shirt to find the halfway mark (don't forget to add about a 1/2 an inch for a seam allowance).

Cut lengthwise all the line on both shirts.

Step Three:

Turn the tees inside out and thread your sewing machine.

Step Four:

Placing the tees right sides together (the sides that will appear on the outside once the T-shirt is done) and stitch a straight seam along the middle seams (with a 1/2 inch seam allowance) front and back.

Step Five:

Now, turn the tee inside out and fold or iron the seams back.

You'll be topstitching them – use a straight stitch on your sewing machine and sew a seam on the right sides of the tee right along the seams on the inside.

This allows the inside seams to lay flat. Be sure to gently pull the fabric as you sew so the knit can stretch properly.

Step Six:

Turn the tee right side out and enjoy!

This project was pretty quick and easy (it took me about 45 from start to finish) and I'm SO excited for her to wear it to the game.

Does your littlest fan root for two teams, too?
