Me At 38 Weeks

Phew! I'm at 38 weeks and feeling every bit of it.

I've got a doctor's appointment tomorrow which I'll be doing solo with Melanie so… wish me luck. This week is also exciting because (if her medical issues cooperate), my mom's coming!

She's been at the births of every one of her grandbabies and didn't want to let some pesky major surgery stop her from being here for this one.

Me At 38 Weeks

Plus, this is the first grandson born to our side of the family in a long, long time – so everybody's excited for a little change!

As I did with my first pregnancy, I'm taking photos and doing a cute week-by-week FYI session from here on out (ala Little Baby Garvin).

San Antonio lifestyle blogger, Cris Stone, shares a rundown of her 38th week of pregnancy. Find out more!

How far along?

38 Weeks.

Total weight gain/loss:

At last week's appointment, I was officially at the 50 pound mark (170 >>> 220). Honestly, for me, that's great.

Maternity clothes?

Still practically living in these leggings, a cami tank, and a T-shirt.

Stretch marks?

Just now seeing the teeniest new red lines (at the top of the old ones). Still using this cream.

Sleep:

Insomnia every single day last week from about 5-8AM. Luckily, I can set Melanie up with breakfast and her tablet so I can doze off and on until 10AM.

Best moment this week:

Seeing his little head in an ultrasound at my appointment. They were just double checking that he's head down (I'm so fat, it can be difficult to know for an external check).

The coolest part was that Melanie was in the room and got to see. She didn't really understand what she was looking at but it was cool none the less.

Movement:

Moving plenty.

Food cravings:

Watermelon and ice cream.

Anything making you queasy or sick:

For weeks now, I've been waking up nauseous and sometimes, experiencing it again at night when I lay down.

Gender:

BOY!

Labor Signs:

No.

Belly Button in or out?

In but 100% flattened out.

Wedding rings on or off?

Off.

Happy or Moody most of the time:

Surprisingly, I've been great this past week.

Looking forward to:

My mom being here. Continuing on small projects around the house. Planning our house remodel.

In other news, I got baby boy's quilt done and now I need to wash it a bunch of times before he's born.

I also did a bunch of bulk freezer cooking in preparation for post-baby exhaustion. I didn't go overboard but I made about 5-6 bake-in-the-oven pasta dishes and a few crock pot dump-and-go soups.

I'm just relieved to have SOMETHING prepped (I didn't last time and we spent so. much. money. on eating out).

I also bought all new bedding for the guest bed (Melanie had seriously thrashed the old stuff) and moved a bunch of stuff around in the room to give me mom a bit more space.
