Partnered Post: Why Planning Your Big Day on a Cruise Could Save You Money

When you plan your wedding, there are certain things that you hope to include: a beautiful dress, the perfect setting, a relaxed reception and a romantic honeymoon, to name a few. But the wedding you want may be out of your price-range and then you must decide whether to wait and save or to leave out some of the elements you would like to include, the honeymoon usually being the first to go. However, if you opt to have the ceremony during a cruise, you could find yourself enjoying a wonderful wedding without missing out on anything.

Saving you money and stress

Those who book weddings as part of their cruise holidays find there are many advantages. For a start, you don't need to arrange transport to or from the ceremony, which will save you a considerable amount of money. Furthermore, many services such as floristry, photography, catering and venue decoration will be arranged by the organisers on board, leaving you with far less to worry about. A huge advantage of incorporating a wedding into cruise holidays is the fact that your honeymoon effectively starts immediately, as you will already be aboard a floating luxury hotel, visiting exotic destinations.

A time to treasure

While the cost of the cruise may be prohibitive to some of your friends and family, by giving them enough notice of your intention, you will allow them time to save and plan for the big day so they can combine a once-in-a-lifetime holiday with your joyous occasion. As you are all holidaying together, this means you will have plenty of time to spend with those closest to you before you begin married life. Additionally, having those you love around you in the run-up to the big day can provide a wealth of emotional and practical support, leaving you more relaxed. Obviously, on an enormous cruise ship, you will have plenty of opportunities for peace and privacy with your new spouse after the wedding.

Your wedding day will be special no matter where it takes place, as long as you are surrounded by people you love. But, there's something extra-special about taking your vows overlooking unusual and beautiful settings like a Caribbean Isle, a historic Mediterranean port or simply the big blue sea itself. If you happen to save some money while you do it, that's simply the icing on the cake.
