Easter is coming and with it always brings sweet memories with my kids. I love that I can offer Finn and Melanie fun and loving memories that they'll look back on later in life. For me, I think creating new and maintaining already existing traditions really helps me feel connected to past generations. Because of that, I really love sharing activities and toys from my childhood with my babies. Isn't it the coolest thing to see your children playing with toys that you loved as a kid?
The Best Toys to Bring Out Their Best
I honestly believe that some toys are just so timeless that they can be saved and shared from generation to generation. For example, tea sets and shape sorters have been around for years and are still deeply loved by children. These toys are designed to inspire imaginative play and stimulate learning through open ended play. And I adore that! I remember playing pretend with my tea set and other toys for hours as a little girl. Did you do that, too?
As a mom, it's nice to provide your kids with toys that can grow with them. I love that I can watch my kids hit developmental milestones just by seeing how they interact over time with the same toy. It's awesome when you get to watch your baby go from just randomly piling shapes into a bucket, to sorting them by shape to fit in the lid properly, then interacting with them by asking them to find a specific color or shape. Their minds are so cool!
And isn't it just the sweetest thing to see your babies go from messing around with a teapot and cups to wanting to play tea party with Mommy or Daddy? Right now, Melanie is really into imaginative play and loves to pretend to be Mommy and serving her babies (stuffed animals) tea and cakes. It's just the cutest thing ever to watch!
I just think that these Fisher Price toys would make the best gifts for Easter! So much more practical than a traditional basket filled with knick knacks that will just get lost or clutter up your house. Get yours today at Walmart!
