Happy Superb Owl! Yes, you read that right. Today I'm gearing up for Superb Owl Sunday around here and celebrating it by sharing this farmhouse chic welcome basket.
We had new neighbors move in down the street from us and, instead of hiding in my house and avoiding new people like I usually do, I thought I'd be a grown-up and invited them to our Sunday game day party.
And I didn't want to greet them into our neighborhood empty-handed so I swung by Tuesday Morning and whipped up this cute Superb Owl welcome basket filled inspired by that clean, farmhouse style everyone around here loves.
What I like best about this basket (I mean, other than being SO cute and SO affordable), is that it doubles as decor and a gift.
Superb Owl Welcome Basket
SEE?!?! It's cute, right? So, here's my welcome basket as decor for your party secret – pair the items with a cute take on the main theme and everyone will go crazy for it.
Plus, no one will call you out for using a gift as your party decor – they'll be too busy enjoying it.
Take this cheese owl. I mean, I could have just slapped some cheese and meat slices on a plate and called it good but instead, I used some clean kitchen scissors to make this freaking adorable owl.
People. It. Is. A. Cheese. Owl.
It took me under five minutes to make the owl from muenster, cheddar, and salami. Then, I surrounded it with some owl cement planters, a couple of mercury silver-like tealight holders, a fun globe, a white ceramic owl, and this understated “Our Nest” catch-all.
The catch-all is also perfect to pop a bowl of crackers in. The faux succulents and globe add some color while every party looks better with a bit of candlelight.
Really, y'all can't go wrong shopping at Tuesday Morning. I always find the greatest decor and linens there for parties… and food. Did you know they have food, too?
It's a get place to snag a box of fancy chocolates, some faux plants, and lovely candles – it's basically one stop shopping for the hostess with the mostess.
