I've done many posts on preparing for baby and I think that I do a pretty good job of making sure that I have what is needed before the little arrives.
However, after the birth of Melanie, I realized that, while I had all the stuff, I had completely neglected to make any preparations for showing her off to the world.
I totally forgot to plan for birth announcements, photo books, and photo canvases to showcase all her cuteness. But on my second go around – I was prepared, y'all!
I booked a newborn session with Pure Happiness Photography and knew that, when it came time, I would be getting ready with Mixbook!
Getting Baby Ready With Mixbook
I cannot rave about Mixbook enough. I have been a fan of their products and designs for years but last May, I got to visit with them personally and really see how high quality they were. I was thrilled with what I saw.
The canvases are heavy duty and come with finished backs and solid hinge style hangers. The photo books had heavy weight pages and excellent printing.
And the announcements? Oh man! The paper is thick and hefty in your hand. Really, the quality of Mixbook's products cannot be denied. And don't even get me started on their designs.
Light and bright or moody and dark – Mixbook has something for everyone's taste. I loved how easy it was to pop my on photos and text into their photo book editor to make the perfect memento for my little family.
And Finn's birth announcements turned out great! I loved that I had the option to add lots of small photos to the back of it. I even played around and ended up purchasing a couple of other designs, too… you know – just in case.
And don't even get me started on their photo books! There are so. many. CUTE designs to choose from and it's really easy to pull photos from your social media accounts or off your computer.
I picked out a sweet Instagram style album (though they have an awesome pregnancy album that made me wish I had taken more photos of myself during my that time!) and just pulled photos directly from my Instagram account.
I think the entire photo book process took me about 20 minutes from start to finish – SUPER easy. Wanna take a peek?
Wanna see the AH-MAZ-ING photo canvases that I got? BOOM:
Gorgeous, right?!?!
The 20″x30″s begged to be hung side-by-side over the changing area (and how cool is it that my photographers, Melisa Urban Photography [Melanie] and Pure Happiness Photography [Finn], took similar shots that look so cool next to each other?).
I seriously BEYOND adore these and Melanie loves to point at them and say, “Melanie baby and Finn baby”… yes, it's as cute as you think it is.
I was also able to pick up a couple of 8″x10″ canvases and added them to the gallery wall above Melanie's bed. Check it out:
