I love, love, LOVE it when a member of Tulle Nation writes to me and asks for help planning their wedding. It's always fun to hear about other people's ideas and plans and get to offer them a few more. Recently, Abby wrote to me and asked if I could help her come up with some budget-friendly ideas for her upcoming spring southern charm wedding reception. Recently, Abby wrote to me and asked if I could help her come up with
some budget-friendly ideas for her upcoming spring southern charm
wedding reception. I tackled that on Monday (read it here) and today, I'm showing you my ideas for Abby's ceremony:
- This is the bouquet that inspired it all! I'd find a florist to copy this exactly – I have no problems with splurging a little when it comes to the one thing you wedding is centered on (Photo: Dominique Bader).
- To save some money, find a local wholesale flower market (or have Costco deliver) and pick up flowers for the bridesmaid bouquet's the day or so before. Sit down with your bridesmaids the day before and DIY these pretty and affordable bouquets (Photo: Oak and the Owl Interior and Floral Design Studio).
- You wanted a lovely lace wedding dress that's also affordable and this one by George Bride is only $198.00! Or, you could go beaded instead of lace and get myveryown wedding gown for FREE.
- Suit up in grey! A soft grey perfectly fits your palette and also the spring season. Find affordable grey suits here and pair them with pastel or grey neckties (Photo: KT Merry).
- Each of these lovely ring pillows are super affordable and one less thing for you to deal with. Or you could DIY one with fabric scraps and a length of ribbon.
- Mint bridesmaid dresses are just the thing for this wedding. Try this one or this one from Dessy and, if it's chilly, pair them with this pretty cardigan form Target (Photo: Twila's Photography).
- Make long lengths of mint, soft turquoise, cream, and peach paper chains and use them as a ceremony backdrop (cut the strips before traveling to Savannah and delegate the DIY task to someone once there) or dye old sheets and make a fabric one (Photo: Beaux Arts Photographie).
Anyone have any more good ideas for helping Abby plan her southern charm wedding ceremony?
