As so many of you know, I’ve been using this last month of my second pregnancy to plan and decorate a joint nursery for Melanie and Baby Boy. We’ve gotten a few big items crossed off the list: picked up a Big Girl Bed for Melanie, bought all the bedding for both kids, and snagged a gorgeous nightstand for next to the rocker. And now, I can start picking out the really fun little bits! Like these made-in-the-USA rockers from RockABye – I mean, REALLY, how cute are they?!?! So cute, that I’m having a hard time choosing the one (or ones) to keep in the room so today, I’m asking you to help me choose an awesome RockABye rocker for the joint nursery!
The Joint Nursery Design For Our Toddler Girl and Baby Boy
Whee! It’s that time. That time when I finally, FINALLY get to design and decorate an actual nursery for my babies. Remember how awful the room we were going to use as a nursery for Melanie was so I only got to dream about decorating it? Well, a billion years later and it’s still pretty sucky but at least it has hardwood floors and isn’t being used as storage. We have to wait a few months to put up the drywall and finishes (the room’s layout is being slightly altered by the new addition so it’s pointless to do any of that right now) but, in the meantime, I can still do a lot of decorating in there. I’m going to work with the room’s paneling which was painted white before I moved in and will need to keep the current full sized bed in there until after my mom leaves (she’ll be here a few weeks when the baby’s born). But, I’m going right ahead and sharing the joint nursery design for our toddler girl and baby boy anyway!
Dear Melanie (A Letter to My Toddler Daughter)
It’s been a long time since I just sat down and wrote about my girl. She’s a toddler now and will be three in July. In August, she’ll become a big sister to a little brother. During her first year, I did a monthly rundown with photos and little notes on her favorites and sweet moments. I gave up doing those after that first year because… well, my kid was a DICK her first year of life. Like, full on asshole. It made parenting and bonding with her very, very, VERY difficult. So after the first, difficult year – I was just enjoying finally enjoying my daughter and so all those little projects about her fell by the wayside. But, I thought that I’d take a moment to write her a little letter and let her know that I love her so much. Right here. Right now.
Amazing Beauty and Health Options for Women, Men, and Children from FOREO
So, I’m not much of a beauty person. I’m super low-key about the make-up I use and often go days and days without wearing any. However, one reason I can do that and not feel like a total uggo is because long ago, I learned the importance of excellent skin and dental care. If your skin and teeth are healthy and glowing – you really can feel confident in any situation – with or without make-up. So, naturally, I’m always on the lookout for awesome tools that I can invest in to help me keep my skin and teeth at their best. And I’m SO, SO excited to say… I found something AWESOME for those of you in the same boat! In January, I was able to preview (and play with) several products from the FOREO skin and dental lines and, OMG – they’re not only fantastic tools, they’re so chic and modern looking! So check out my rundown of the amazing beauty and health options for women, men, and children from FOREO:
Cute Toddler Girl Pieces for Spring
It’s that time of year! For some of you, it means drinking loads of green beer and eating boiled stuff. In my case, it means that it’s time to reevaluate my daughter’s wardrobe and see what needs to be retired, what can stay, and what gaps I need to fill in. The best part about this chore is that it happens just in time for the new spring and summer lines to start coming out in the stores and everything is SO FREAKING ADORABLE! I could die from all the bright colors, floral patterns, and smocking. Also looking for some sweet new gear for your toddler? Then check out my suggestions for cute toddler girl outfits for spring:
Awesome Superhero Stuff for Little Girls
As many of you know, my little girl LOVES her some superheroes. She’s a huge Hulk fan and loves hugging the TV whenever we watch “Guardians of the Galaxy” and Groot comes on. And while my girl doesn’t particularly care if she plays with traditionally “boy” superhero toys and dress-up clothes, she IS delighted when we find more feminine versions of them (or, God forbid, ACTUAL female superhero toys and costumes). Is your little one the same? Then check out this awesome superhero stuff for little girls:
