// I may earn money from the companies mentioned in this post. //
If you read this post or follow my Stories on Instagram, then you know that my kids are big readers. BIG. They just love reading and having us (or a device) read to them.
Since my husband and I are also enthusiastic readers, we think this is great.
So great, that my kids basically know we'll buy them a book if they ask for it.
I mean, they never ask for toys or candy when we go to the store but… if they see a book then they know it's on.
Finn's Favorite Books Right Now
We have tons of books in our house right now but, because kids are kids, ours have their favorites that they want read over and over… and over and over and over.
Here's a rundown of Finn's favorite books right now (you can check out Melanie's favorites here):
Belly Button Book:
This was one of Melanie's very favorite books when she was a toddler and now it's Finn's, too.
He, like his sister, likes it best when Daddy reads it to him.
There's a little hippo in the story who calls his belly button a “be boh” and that delights both my kids so much that our entire family calls belly buttons “be bohs”.
Itsy Bitsy Spider Finger Puppet Book:
Always a popular song for the two and under crowd.
Finn still isn't quite coordinated enough to do the traditional finger motions for this songs.
This little puppet book let's him participate on those days when every little thing is frustrating him.
Five Little Monkeys Jumping On The Bed:
A book that is celebrated through the joy of movement.
My son cannot simply read this book – the muse insists that he act it out fully and with total enthusiasm.
Heads up, this is the first book in a series about these asshole mischievous little monkeys.
You know, just in case your kids need more.
Disney Mickey Mouse My First Books:
This is actually set of books that introduces letters, numbers, shapes, and colors to your toddler.
Finn is a huge Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fan and is starting to sing his ABC's and count to ten.
These books just allow him to put both those things together and really max out his happiness.
Sherlock Holmes in the Hound of Baskervilles: A BabyLit Sounds Primer:
Both my kids are huge fans of the BabyLit series of books and we have so many of them.
This Sherlock Holmes one is a particular favorite of Finn's because it focuses on sounds.
He loves it when Daddy reads the book to him and makes all the sounds (apparently, Mommy is not as good at the sounds as Daddy is).
Little Blue Truck Board Book:
This book was a Christmas gift from Finn's future heavy equipment operator uncle and he. loves. it.
It's the first of a series of Little Blue Truck books that cover all kinds of themes and seasons (we have about five of them).
The book introduces lots of different kinds of animals and vehicles plus rhyming (which toddlers love).
