I thought I'd share some pictures and details from Melanie's birthday (ya know – now that it's September and she turned one in… July). I started pinning birthday ideas about five months before her birthday and finally settled on a pretty pink, gold, and blue theme. It all came from this lovely deer antler and initial print off etsy. I loved the print because it was feminine but also alluded to her Daddy's favorite pastime – hunting.
Melanie's party was small – just a few family members that live close by and my best friend + her baby boy, Sebastian, who is Melanie's bestie. All in total there were about ten people so I decided to make the day really relaxed. We told the littles to bring their swimsuits and just planned to let them play in on a homemade splash pad, eat, and talk. I focused the bulk of my energy on the buffet table + a few sweet DIY touches. Check them out:
Some DIY Touches:

The Fun:
The Cake:
As you can see, Mel had a blast (and all that wheat and butter for the first time made her wake up in the middle of the night throwing up). It was exactly the simple, laidback affair I had been hoping for.
Did you host a party for your baby's first birthday?
