Alternative Wedding Vows or Readings: Shakespeare Edition

Let me tell you, one of the hardest things about planning my own wedding was trying to write the wedding ceremony. I was not a fan of the traditional vows (I obey no one but myself thankyouverymuch) and really wanted to find something that reflected our concept of what we wanted our relationship to be. If you’re in the same boat but looking for alternative vows with a more classic lean – well, here ya go! Some wedding vows Shakespeare-style!

Partnered Post: Why Planning Your Big Day on a Cruise Could Save You Money

When you plan your wedding, there are certain things that you hope to include: a beautiful dress, the perfect setting, a relaxed reception and a romantic honeymoon, to name a few. But the wedding you want may be out of your price-range and then you must decide whether to wait and save or to leave out some of the elements you would like to include, the honeymoon usually being the first to go. However, if you opt to have the ceremony during a cruise, you could find yourself enjoying a wonderful wedding without missing out on anything.

Partnered Post: Best Places to Say I Do in the Winter

Even as summer beach weddings seem to be a hot favourite, there is something uniquely magical about a winter wedding among snow-covered landscapes and celebrating in front of open fires. Even if you’re opting for a last-minute wedding abroad this winter, you don’t need to forgo the sunshine, with destinations from the Caribbean to Spain boasting pleasant temperatures and beautiful seashores. Here are some of best destinations for a winter wedding this year:

12 Months of Fitness: Challenge #11 – Watch The Condiments

For the next month, your goal is to think about how many/much condiments you eat. One of the easy way to cut down on unneeded calories is to eliminate or substitute your condiments. Those dabs of ketchup or dips made of sour cream can really pack on the empty calories. Let’s take a moment this month and really think about the extras we’re eating at every meal.

Partnered Post: Hen Do’s and Stag Do’s in The UK

Weddings can be a great way of getting the family together for a party. Along with celebrating your nuptials, it is a chance to reunite those aunts and uncles and distant cousins you don’t often see on a regular basis. But what bout your friends? Of course they can be invited to the wedding too, but will you get a chance to speak to them amongst all the other family members you need to catch up with? Making sure your friends feel included in your celebrations is important, which is why Hen parties and Stag do’s were invented.

Alternative Wedding Vows or Readings: Jane Austen Edition

Let me tell you, one of the hardest things about planning my own wedding was trying to write the wedding ceremony. I was not a fan of the traditional vows (I obey no one but myself thankyouverymuch) and really wanted to find something that reflected our concept of what we wanted our relationship to be. If you’re in the same boat but looking for alternative vows with a more literary lean lean – here’s some wedding vows inspired by Jane Austen!

Partnered Post: Summer vs. Winter Wedding

The type of season that you choose to have your wedding in can determine a lot about your big day. From the type of venue you host it at, to the length of your dress, to the colour of the bridesmaid dresses and more. So would you prefer a bright and (hopefully!) sunny day, or a crisp winter day for your wedding?

Affordable Bridal Beauty Finds

In an ideal world, we would all have closets full of Jimmy Choos and gallons of Chanel No. 5 at our disposal. But this is the real world and if you’re reading this blog – it means that you’re probably planning a budget wedding. And planning a budget wedding often means deciding where you should spend and where you should save. One easy place for the ladies to save is on make-up. Yes, it would be lovely to hire a professional artist who uses only the best products BUT you probably can’t afford that. Luckily, I am here to help you. I’ve rounded up my favorite affordable bridal beauty finds for you (They’re also great for your honeymoon!). Go forth and enjoy!

Music: iPod Playlist for a DJ-Less Wedding Reception

A reader on my Facebook page requested a post about song suggestions for an iPod playlist for a DJ-less wedding reception. She likes all kinds of music (Top 40 on the radio with a mix of some late ’90s and lots of classics) but her fiance has the complete opposite taste in music. They’d really just like a variety of songs that will make everyone happy (from 20 and 30 somethings to the older crowd, too). In my experience, a collection of songs from the ’80s/’90s along with some pop-style country and big hits from the ’50s/’60s are the best mix for a wedding reception. Here are my suggestions:
